Instagram is a popular platform where millions of people share photos and videos daily create stories and interact with content. Sometimes you may want to share a post you like with someone or use it somewhere else. The easiest way to do this is by copying the post link. 1. Copying a Post Link from the Instagram App Mobile

iPhone and Android

  1. Open the Instagram app.

  2. Go to the post whose link you want to copy.

  3. Tap the three dots icon located in the top right corner of the post.

  4. From the menu tap Copy Link.

  5. The link is now copied to your clipboard and you can paste it anywhere.

2. Copying a Post Link from Desktop Browser

  1. Open instagram.com in your browser.

  2. Log in and open the post whose link you want to copy.

  3. The URL in the address bar for example https://www.instagram.com/p/XXXXXXXXX/ is the direct post link.

  4. Copy the link and share it anywhere you like.

3. Can You Copy a Story Link

No Instagram does not allow copying direct story links. If the account is public you may access the story via third party tools. Alternatively you can take a screenshot or screen recording to share.

4. Copying Links for Reels and IGTV

The method is the same.

  • Tap the three dots on the post.

  • Select Copy Link.

5. If You Cannot Copy the Link

If the account is private and does not follow you you cannot access the post. Even if you copy the link the content will not be visible.

Also older versions of the Instagram app may not support this feature properly. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play if needed.
